The New MINI Electric JCW charges to 80% in just 28 minutes. Danny Boyle has 28 Days, 28 Weeks, and 28 Years Later was out in a few months. So, what if we made a movie for 28 Minutes Later? The concept was loved by both agency and client, but never made it into production.

MINI ELECTRIC JCW - “28 MINUTES LATER”

FADE IN: EXT. LONDON STREET - DAY
Wide shot of The New MINI Electric JCW cruising down a bustling London street. The JCW pulls over to a charging point at the curb.

CILLIAN MURPHY (49) steps out from the driver’s seat. He plugs in the car, then gets back in to relax.

INT. MINI JCW
Close up on the dashboard: the charging icon illuminates. Cillian’s eyes grow heavy. He nods off.

ALL BLACK TITLE CARD: “28 MINUTES LATER”

Cillian’s eyes snap open, startled. He blinks, disoriented.
Close up on the dashboard: 80% charged.

EXT. CHARGING POINT - CONTINUOUS
Cillian gets out, unplugs the JCW from the charging point. He pauses. Looks around. The street is completely empty. No cars. No people. It’s eerie silence.

CILLIAN
(confused)
Hello?

EXT. DESERTED LONDON STREET - CONTINUOUS
Cillian walks down the middle of the deserted road.

CILLIAN
(louder)
Hello?!

His voice echoes off empty buildings.

EXT. DESERTED WESTMINSTER BRIDGE - CONTINUOUS
Cillian stands alone on the iconic bridge. The Houses of Parliament in the background.

CILLIAN
(muttering)
Oh no, not again.

He turns, anxiety creeping across his face.
EXT. CHARGING POINT - CONTINUOUS
Cillian hurries back toward where he left the MINI JCW. He stops in his tracks.
A lone FIGURE stands with their back to him, hunched, staring intensely at the car. Their posture is unsettling… zombie-like.

CILLIAN
(polite, nervous)
Excuse me
(fearful)
Oi!

No response. The figure doesn’t move. Cillian edges closer. Hesitates. He reaches out... reluctantly taps the figure on the shoulder. The figure whips around as Cillian SCREAMS directly at them.

The figure pulls out their earbuds. It’s a LONDON DUNGEONS PERFORMER (20s), dressed in full horror makeup and costume.

PERFORMER
Oh (laughing) sorry mate,
just admiring your car.

EXT. CHARGING POINT - CONTINUOUS
Cillian forces a terrified smile. Cillian scrambles into the car, and drives off. The Performer stands puzzled, watching the JCW disappear down the street.

ALL BLACK END FRAME:
“The New MINI Electric JCW.
Charge in minutes. Not hours.”

*TIGHT CROP ON PERFORMER’S FACE* The Performer shrugs, puts their earbuds back in.
**A BLUR OF MOVEMENT** lunges across frame as the Performer is YANKED out of frame
